GENERAL OVERVIEW

The sensor for the continuous monitoring of vibrations on the machine tool is a compact and robust device (IP67), able to provide important information on the health of the machine and its components, on the goodness of the working process and on the correct use of the machine tools.

 

MAIN ADVANTAGES

  • Robust and resistant: the sensor is able to withstand extreme temperatures (0°C to + 70°C) and is characterized by a high mechanical strength (shock resistance 10,000 g), ensuring accurate analysis results even in the presence of critical environmental conditions.
  • Intelligent and powerful to guarantee high performance: the device is extremely powerful and can store up to 12,000 events perfectly categorized in terms of type, intensity, date and time. The smart IoT sensor is able to verify the correct use of the machine, monitor the unbalancing of the spindles and the tools by measuring the actual dynamic loads, monitoring the collisions, the processes and the wear of the components. The result is an optimization of maintenance activities and standards of quality and production performance that are always high.
  • Preventive and predictive maintenance: if integrated with the IoT Smart Platform, the sensor will make maintenance operations even more efficient, reducing costs and errors through facilitating preventive and predictive maintenance of the systems. The IoT sensor can also be supplied with a communication interface that integrates the Modbus TCP protocol and is available on request for other types of field buses.

OPERATING PRINCIPLES

The sensor works as a “black box” of the machine and completely autonomously with respect to the machine tool itself.

The configuration of the system and the recovery of the recorded data takes place through the PC, connected to the interface via USB port, using a special software. For the sensor-interface connection, a cable with an 8-pin M12 connector is used and the device is equipped with a 15 cm integral cable.
